# Exporting Clients from Square 

> Learn how to export your customer list from Square's dashboard and prepare your CSV file correctly for smooth importing into a new platform.

## Introduction

Exporting your clients from Square lets you easily take your customer information—such as names, phone numbers, and emails—with you as you transition to a new platform.

    ## Log into Your Square Dashboard

    Go to [<u>squareup.com</u>](http://squareup.com) and sign in to your Square Dashboard using your business login.

    ## Navigate to Customers

    From the main dashboard, click on Customers in the left-hand menu. This will bring you to your full client list.

    ## Click the Export Button

    On the top right corner of the Customers page, you’ll see an Import/Export button. Click it and select Export Customers.

    ## Choose Export Format

    Square will export your customer list as a CSV file. Before importing this file into another platform, make sure the CSV is saved using comma-separated values (",")—not semicolon-separated (";"). This ensures your data maps correctly when importing elsewhere.
